Default Crank balancing to do or not to do for my app.

I an ready to build my motor after about 2 years of getting parts and machine work. Its a d16z6 with eagle rods arias pistons and a z6 head with crower stage 3 cam oversized valves 3 angle performance valvejob crower springs and retainers topped off with cbr itb's.

I will be reving this motor till it stops making power 9+
My crank was checked and is fine by my machineist. He just checked the journals to verify that they were within spec and i will be running stock sized bearings.

Do i need to have the crank balanced? Im looking for info becuase I dont know alot about this topic.

thanks

Spun

A rotating assembly balance is always a good idea.

Balanced to themselves as in each one is almost the exact weight as the other, sure. Balanced to the rotating assembly, not so much.

To properly balance a bottom end, you need to do the crank, flywheel, balancer, rods, and pistons ALL together. Anything else is just half assing it. Not to mention, at the RPM's you are talking about, your crank and rod bearings will thank you.

Your power will probably peak at around 7400-7500 with that cam, only because of the stroke. I shift at 7900-8000 on my d16a6 on a larger cam than a Crower 3, and I wouldn't recommend running higher than that. If you ran the same cam on a d15, you very well might be peaking at 8000. Because of the stroke and the rod ratio, you can make good torque at lower rpm--negating the need to go over 8000 rpm to make nice power.
