First, start by checking the essential prelude link towards the top of the page. There is a lot of good info there.

Your build will depend on your goals and your pockets.

I always recommend sleeving your block. If not get Type S pistons as they are frm compatible.

Put some money into the head. Port and polish, cams, valves and valvetrain.

Dont forget the header. My personal favorite is SMSP. Top of the line headers are +$1,000.00.

If you plan to run nitrous I would recommend getting the pistons and piston rings heat treated.

rip out those connecting rods and get them shot peened, its cheap and if ur gonna do the pistons as recommended..it might as well be done anyways..

The fast and furious one and two played this weekend, you probably caught them both. You seem to have a goal in mind just because its cool, but you have no actual experience with building a motor to handle the negative effects of nitrous oxide through your motor. You need more knowledge before making these kinda of goals or your going to build a bomb under your hood. Just simply knowing the brands that will give you good results and wanting those brands is quite frankly retarded. You need to know more about engines before making pointless goals.

Colder plugs, upgraded fuel rail, some tuning device to tune for nitrous.

why fuel rail? just curious....

and about dude saying you need knowledge first. As that may be true, you have to start somewhere. Obviously building a motor for the first time wont be like you are part of the nascar pit crew, but as long as you take your time and read about the ways to measure clearances, torque specs, etc....you will get the hand of it and you will possess knowledge of "how to" and not just something you have read how to do and therefore will have knowledge that i could bet 80% of the members of this forum dont have.

ANYWAY,
My suggestion to use it to not skimp out anywhere. You say you are not going to put nitrous on immediately so i would start out with a GOOD i/h/e setup, if you want to read info about the basic beginnings of a good setup then read this:
http://preludepower.com/forums...46845

It will give you a good idea of the differences between a mild (mostly show) setup and a setup that is purposeful in more than one aspect (show and power).

If your gonna be dealing with nitrous, I would highly recommend going with a program like hondata that has nitrous control as a tuning solution.

The FAQ of this forum holds LOTS of information that many people miss because they are just too lazy to search through them all. Starting there puts you ahead of MANY MANY members who you see posting questions that could be answered by reading the faq.

good luck.

Because you would want an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to adjust accordingly!

Save your money and start reading man, but if you must get your hands dirty BPI flow stacked intake and 2.5 exhaust is a good start, then a high end header and something to tune with.

also don't forget about suspension the lude is powerful enough stock, maybe you want to get that power to the wheels and threw the turns before you start adding more power to the car?

side note to Blake:Hey man hop on over to SCP quick when ya get a chance I'm looking for a RMF header and exhaust for my BB6 but Igot a few questions

aftermarket fuel rail....lol that would be one of the last upgrades on my list.

and NO you don't need one to utilize an aftermarket fpr.

shoulda figured that out before you bought it dont yuh think?

I believe that FPR is inline with the fuel system. Meaning that it wont be bolting to the fuel rail. You will have to find a place to mount it and run a fuel line to and from it.

i bought it because of my running rich problem...i know its to suppliment the stock fpr..so i guess ill just splice it in right before the stocker and run a return line to the stocker..

i dont care about brand name items as long as they do what they are designed to do(it looks basically identical to the HKS one my friend had in his 700hp supra..if this one sucks ill buy a "brand name". worst that can happen is i lose 30 bucks or resell it to someone for 20.

I'm sure all the parts will look fine at first glance, but I'd bet money that time will ruin the gauge mounted on there and the diaphragm inside. You'll probably have to torque down all the bolts properly anyway
