Part Number for Vehicle Speed Sensor
I'm pondering to know if there are two different Vehicle Speed Sensor's available for the L3 DX transmission and the L3 SI transmission. To do this I need the part number for the sensor and if it is sold separately the VSS gear. And if you look it up, either way post up the part numbers. I've already checked the Transmission section of the parts guide on HondaPartsDeals.com
Are you taking about the actual vss in the cluster, or the part in the transmission that the cable goes in? if you are talking about the part in the transmission as far as I know most honda transmission are all the same you can swap speedo gears in d and b series cable or hydro transmissions
I'm sorry, I thought I was pretty clear but I'm in need of sleep. I'm talking the part that the cable plugs into the transmission. If the gear (Speedometer ring gear and the Gear at the end of the VSS) were the same on all Honda's, then speedometer calculations would come down to being calculated by the cluster if the final drive is changed from factory. I rather not ponder the inner workings of my speedometer and just go straight for part numbers on the transmission side if at all possible.
after digging around i found your answer the speedo cable gear inside the transmission is the same part number

what i found was different is the actual gear on the fd that the speedo reads off of
