ITR rear sway bar klunk noise
Hi Guys,
I have an ITR rear sway bar with beaks kit and ITR rear LCAs on my EG.
Everytime I take a hard turn, or go over a large bump, a loud klunk noise comes from the back of the car.
I dont believe it is hitting anything since I looked under the car and didn't see any marks on the swaybar/exhaust piping.
I made sure all the bolts were tightened down.
One possibility is the endlinks where it attaches from the swaybar to the rear LCA. When installing it I had a hard time tightening the bolt down that goes thru the endlink and tightens to the rear LCA. So I used an impact gun.
Is that bolt supposed to be sandwiching the endlink to the lca? Or should there be some space for the endlink to move. Because I feel like if i tightened the bolt all the way, the endlink would be at an agressive angle, and I don't know if that would be putting a stress on the bar/lca.
Right now the endlink has a little less than 1/8th inch of space to move between the bolt head and the rear lca.
hope this makes sense.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, guys.
I remember reading the torque spec for the endlinks, and they were something real low, so it threw me off when I had such a hard time tightening the bolt with a breaker bar. When I was using an impact gun to tighten the rest up, I think I stopped before the bolt totally sandwiched the endlink to the LCA because I was afraid the head of the bolt would break off - since it was so tight to thread in.
The threads of the tac-welded nut on the LCA must have been rusty/needed a clean up with a tap. Anyway, I'll try and tighten it up all the way this weekend.
Peace!
