Default Repairing carbon fiber hood?

Friend of mines CF hood flew up going over a bridge, it was a nice hood, cost about 500 bucks .. anyway, the carbon fiber part like seperated from the frame of the hood, and theres some pretty big gouges on the top..

What could he do to fix it? i was just gonna re attach it with fiberglass bondo the imperfections then just paint it, or somthing

Also the hoods kind of warped, is there anyway to bend it down? maybe a heat gun?

carbon fiber does not respond well to heat, it doesn't bend like that and you could replace the bad areas with fiberglass but it won't be the same and it will be alot more work than youand your freind probly want to do....and hoods like that flex and bend, bondo will pop out in no time.

Best fix is light body filler and paint. But you still need to fix it, and finished carbon fiber isn't easy to fix. Most cracks go down to the fiber, and that requires a very careful sanding of the top coats, somehow restoring the thicknesses of those layers, then making it look good afterwards.

I'd take a wild guess that it would be much cheaper to get a new hood (or a used metal hood) than to play around fixing a damaged one.
