They fit on the front, preferably with a 5mm spacer. They will rub the trailing arm in the rear however,

But why 225/45 for lapping? The 205/50 works much better and besides R3s04s gotta be rock hard!!

I'm interested in why you think the 205/50 works better?

Is it the gearing change that is not prefered?

The 225/45-15 is almost exactly the same outer diameter as the 205/50-15 (they differ by 0.1 inch) so there is virtually no difference in effective gearing.

I like 205/50-15. No rubbing, and there are tons of choices of R compound tires in that size. R compound tires that aren't really really old!

BTW, are you planning on mixing two old rock-hard R3S04 with two newer, stickier R compound tires? I wouldn't...

ha, yeah I ran the good ol tire calculator after I got off H-T and it did come out about the same.

IMO - I'd rather run 225s if clearance was not an issue - Us rookies don't have to be as smooth to be fast

BTW at my stage, it's better to learn on 205s anyhow.. .
I'm rockin 215/45/16 RT615s this year anyways.. . More learning to be had and I'll qualify for TT street class
