Default Question about bumper trim...

My uncle has a 2001 Honda civic and he told me that the lower part of his bumper was sagging. From the description he gave me it sounded like a rubber 'lip' on the bottom of the bumper that fell off...he said he couldnt figure out how it could be rattatched that there were some kind of clips that looked like it held it back in place..he tried to 'force' it back in place but could not get it to stay....he said it has two screws on either side which I am guessing are attatched to the fender liners...its just the front(midle) part that is sagging...I was just looking to see how this is connected to the bumper and if it can be fixed now or if replacement part is needed...also could it be that the clips are broken? I have not seen the car yet so I am going purley on what I was told...I tried looking at some pictures to see if I could tell but it was not very clear...

sorry for the book
any help you can give is appreciated

Thanks
Tom

I dont really get this, as most models dont come with any stock lip.

Unless its the OEM honda Veloz/Aero, which it kind of sounds like, in which case... What i did was put 2 screws into the lip, then into my bumper in the top middle corners of the lip. thats hella confusing sounding...

If the clips are broken, my guess the only place to get replacements would be honda.

Im not to sure how OEM honda does it, so i cant really be of any help with the clips, but installing aftermarket lips just requires 6 screws.

2 on either side of the fender well, then 2 on the corners of the black opening in the bumper.

yea it is just a rubber piece not an actual plastic lip or anything...like I said I have not bee able to see it I was just hoping I could help him fix it sometime soon and just wanted to know what parts he needed. He doesnt even know how it happend so that doesnt help a whole lot either..Im guessing he hit something which to me would mean whatever clips there were are most likley broken and are a stealership only part...but clips shouldnt be too expensive as long as the rubber lip thing is ok...I was trying to look at some pictures but I really can't see anything to assist me in solving this problem.

Thanks for the reply
