Doing ES bushings, what's the diff. between black and red?
I was told the difference in ES bushings from the black and red is the black has graphite in it to not make it squeek, but I was told BOTH sets squeak anyways, so I'm asking, if the price is the same for both kits, why should I get the red or the black?
yeah the black ones have graphite in them but seriously i coudnt tell a difference and supposedly are queiter,,,they're both the same stiffness thats all that matters,,i got the black ones though cause i HATE red **** under the car. just make sure to grease them up alot with the "white" that comes with them and they wont squeak.
there has been some durability debate over the two, although a lot of that seems to be due to differences between people with older bushings and ones made more recently.
check the archives in the rr/ax forum for more debate, though most of it gets lost on rta discussion.
cliffs notes: i'd choose the black ones from the current stock, and run rubber oem or mugen in the rta.

you may want to read this. i was going to go with urethane suspension replacements but let me say i am very very disapointed in the results. does anyone other then honda make replacement rubber pieces (besides mugen)?

from what i read the es bushings do not alow the full range of movement in the rta and caus binding or something like that.

From what I have heard...talking to my Honda tech...he loves ES over the stock...and has installed them in just about every car...he was also telling me about comparing the UCA bushings to the Integra ones...the Integra ones he said were between the OEM crx bushing and the ES ones...a step up over stock crx ones...quality was better material possibly was the reasoning...also some people when installing them dont use the jelly/grease and that becomes a problem if not properly lubercated...
Also some Co's out there do not use a 100% polyurethane and it will be a mixed material...I believe from rumors ES just switched recently...
But far as the difference between black and red I didn't know that...could be why I wasn't given the option...
