88 WAgon Transs?
I recently got a 88 civic wagon 2wd. I was wondering what trans comes in the them cuz Im lookin to get a new clutch. Im almost positive its an Si trans, cuz my rpms around 5th gear at 80mph are at like 3800-3900. I was wondering if thats stock? or maybe the trans was replaced. Is there a was to tell the differnce in years? I nnoticed that the stock front trans mount was different then one I had gotten off a 91 hf. I was not able to bolt it up to the front cuz the holes were too far apart. Can anyone help?
If you have 21 splines, you have an 88 model year and 190mm bastard child clutch. If you have 20 splines, you are any year between 1989 - 1991 with either a 200mm clutch or a 212mm clutch.
Its deff a si trans anyway to tell the year without taking it off.?? I just had it off last week. Like I said a mount off a 91 crx hf trans didnt fit for some reason but there was also a mount on it that didnt fit either. only one bolt would work.
