Default RH + CAI + stock exhaust vs. CAI + Exhaust + reflash?

due to it being a lot cheaper i was seriously considering getting just a DC ceramic RH keeping my stock 05 type-s exhaust and getting a cold air intake. I can get both of those for about 650 dollars. With that being said, does anybody know what kind of power it would make compared to a car that has CAI exhaust and hondata reflash? I know that would cost around 1300 dollars. Im just trying to get the best bang for my buck. Thanks for your time.

in one option, the stock exhaust will be your bottleneck. in the other, it will be your headers.

well from the research i have done the oem 05-06 type-s exhaust is not a bad exhaust to run a race header with. Not only that ive heard sound clips and it sounds sick. Basically what im wondering which is pretty much un-answerable is a comparison of whp with those 2 setups. I think im gonna end up going with rh and cai for now then get k-pro and catback down the road. I know for a fact i will net more gains with that than with reflash. I just wish i could ride in then dyno a car with rh cai then ride in and dyno one with reflash cai and exhaust heh. still open for opinions/comments

if you're planning on getting a rh, do not get the reflash. your car will run too lean and could cause some problems. adding a rh and cai to start off with is the best bet. you'll get pretty good gains and it will sound very nice even with the stock exhaust. later on, you can add an exhaust and a kpro and the gains will be even better. imo: rh + cai > cai + reflash + exhaust.

The OEM 05-06 exhaust is not too bad; that would be the last item I replace.

But call Hondata before you reflash that car. They will recommend what mods to get.

ive convinced myself that the reflash is a no-go for sure. I would just be wasting my money because you are limited with the reflash. Im going to go with RH and CAI for now then save up for catback and k-pro then tune that bish. thanks for the replies!!!

If you need the ceramic DC header and a Cold Air intake I got both of them and ill sell them for $400. Definately not worth it to buy those parts brand new if its going to cost you $650, b/c they do the same **** new or used. I might even have an exhaust as well

Honestly, dont waste your money if your going to get a header like the DC Race header and an exhaust because its loud as hell and its going to annoy you very quickly. It sounds like **** because theres no cat and its very loud.

If you get the header, and keep the stock exhaust, that would be better because whenever you want to go to the tracks or race the car, you can just take off your muffler and your set.

$1300 is not worth the performance...... trust me, unless your going turbo or some other high power build, try to keep it under a Grand.

i've done CAI, ceramic header, cat back exhaust. i installed the header first and felt no change at all. then i installed the exhaust and i felt some power increase. and then CAI and i felt a alot more of a power increase. id forget about the header and use that cash for a reflash i've heard on multipule account that it's a good investment.

did you install a race header? if so thats odd that you didn't feel any improvement. out of those mods, the race header will give you the most power, followed by the cai and finally the exhaust.

no just a header. and honestly the biggest HP jump i felt was my first mod. a KandN replacment drop in filter ! haha but for real i felt a large acceleration difference. but with all the other mods my car feel more powerful over all. comparing to stock i feel alot quicker acceleration now my VTEC sings loud and clear ! and the biggest improvement was my ability to reach 145. i've done it twice once with just the KandN and it seemed to struggle. but now it reaches at a solid rate.

i would just go with the cai+rh+stock exhaust
that's what i have in addition to k-pro
sounds great and looks stock
don't think i'll even get an aftermarket exhaust
