f23 engine swap cl type s
I am looking to gain more power and still have some reliability. I put a f23a5 in my 2000 accord 2 door figuring it would be better for a turbo. Is it better? How hard would it be to do a acura cl type s swap, and what would I need for it? Thanks
well if I were you I would go for at the least pistons and rods those alone are about 1200 clams
plus annother 12-1500 for a nice standalone
plus annother 1500-3k for a turbo kit witch if i were to do I would peice together my own kit inorder to satisfy my needs/ability to expand power

i don't get it your coupe already came with f23a1/4 which is the vtec version of the f23 and you want to swap in the non-vtec dx,vp motor?

No, it's less powerful than the motor he started with. And, he already had the F23A5 installed.

To be blunt, it's not better. The primary weakness of the F23 motor is going to be the ringlands, and that goes for all variations of the motor. I don't think you're going to want to try a CL-S swap, mostly because you're starting with a 4-cyl. When you compare the I4 engine bay to the V6 engine bay, everything is on opposite sides. Everything. It would be better/easier/cheaper to trade your car in for a V6 model.

I appreciate the help. What can I do correct that on a 2000 dollar budget? Recommend any parts place or will f22 parts work? Thanks alot, just want to make sure I dont waste my money when I order the turbonetic t3/t4 turbo kit.
In the Accord FAQ you will various links to online stores. A set of forged pistons will cure the ringland problem. Get a nice of rods to go with the pistons, and you should be set for a good amount of power.
