2k accord tires????
I got a set of 19x8 axis rims,+45 offset, running on a 2k accord coupe. they've got 215/35/19 falken tires. I'm not too crazy about having no sidewall at all. alot of people recommend 225/35/19 but,I can't see that being a whole lot different. I notice a few guys on cardomain running 235/35/19's on their 98-02 accords. Just wondering if anyone on this forum is running 235/35/19 tires on there 6th gen accord coupe?? If so,any rubbing problems especially inside the wheel well when turning left to right??? I need the pros and cons......
Are you lowered? If so, how much?
I installed some Eibach Prokits (1.2 inch drop?) on a 6th gen coupe with the same rim (including offset) and tire size, and the car did not have any rubbing issues. I did not try hard, tight turns though. Also keep in mind that the actual width can vary between tire manufacturers.

my cousins got that set up, both with konig verdict's and now some new chrome, shes (thats right, she) got it in a drop with the same spec tires, and was gonna give me her old konigs for free, so i did a fuckload of math and found out that a 255/30/19 is the BEST TIRE possible for 8"wide rims, cuz its a 10" tire, that size you are lookin at, offer no bead protection which is why my cuz had to get new rims
I'm lowered with an eibach pro-kit 1.5 drop all th way around. I was thinking about going another 1/4 inch with a set of neuspeed sports to close the wheel well gap up alittle. I was looking at discounttiredirect.com and will most likely go with the 235/35/19 Falken FK 452 or the nitto nt555's. I have 215/35/19 on my 19x8's and the tire looks like it barely fits the wheel, the edge of the rims acually sticks out past the edge of the tire. from a side view it looks like i have no sidewall at all. I need to correct this before the rims are toast.
i know amanada's coupe is the same way witht he rims sticking out past the tire, get the 255's the 235/35' have a bigger sidewall and are only a little bit wider, but worst of all they do not comply with the 3% rule, the 255/30/19's do
the 3% rule bieng the threshhold of overall tire circumfrence u can screw with before you mess up the speedometer, acceleration, braking, handling and stuff

I know 255/30's are way too wide. plus, its a rare tire size and very few manufacturers make them. I found them made by dunlop but, they're almost $300 each.

I would recommend just going with 225/35. I say that because I have a 98 sedan with 235/35/19 on the same wheels and offset. The back rubbed enough to annoy the **** out of me. 225/35 was my original setup, and that is what i am about to go back to. if you decide to go 235, then roll the lip on the rear fender and you should be alright.
here is my car with 235. i want it to sit lower to and that is another reason for the 225.

well,I already rolled my rear 1/4 panel lips but, with the 1.5 drop its wasn't needed. I not worried about rubbing in the back,my main concern is the front. I have an ingalls front and rear camber kit. after lowering it,I had it aligned and the front rims acually stick out a hair because they're perfectly straight. When you lower a car,the suspension gets wider..this combined with +45 offset will cause the front wheels to stick out. I can correct this problem by leaning them back in a bit which would make it handle better but, eventually it wear the inside of the tire out and probaly give me bad bumpsteer. At this point I should probaly keep the smaller tires if I'm going to lower it more. I just hate to spend $600 for another set of tires that are only 10mm wider.
dude i found out from George Knighton, theres no such thing as camber wear, when u lower, the wheels get cocked over tp one side so it rides on the insde edge, bu then u also have more toe which toe cauases tires to scrub on th wroad, but since the side effects of lowering is more5 camber and mo0re toe, they scrub, whiole cocked up on one side,
toss out the camber kit, theyre not even that safe, or necesary, and get ur toe aligned back up to factory spec and ull be fine
o and 19's on accord look sick once i get some $$% flowing pretty good ill get them konigs from my cuz, her and her husband eric use them as stools to stand on since the rims arent on anything lol
the roads are all jackd up here so ill put on them 19's when i move out

who is George Knighton?? I guess everone has their own theory. I've had alot of lowered honda's without camber kits and all the tires wore out on the insides. I don't want to wear my tires out so,I'll stick witht he camber kit. Or,I'm going to find a way to make my oem upper controls adjustable without aftermarket camber kits because I don't care for these ingalls adjustable balljoints.
camber wear is an issue depending on how tucked you are. If you dont want to run a camber kit, I know that Nitto tire makes tires with a harder compound on the inside, specifically designed for slammed cars, and extreme camber situiations. http://www.nittotire.com/tires_neogen.asp Check em out, i'm not sure if they are avaliable in the size your looking for yet.
ETA: 215/35ZR19, 245/35ZR19, 275/35ZR19 <-- only 3 19" sizes avaliable.
