ok i got it..
yeah those are stock d16 rods that have been treated..The shotpeening does make them alot harder but still i dont know if they would match the vitara pistons which ive seen go for 400-500whp with no problem. how much hp you trying to get? if its like under 300whp you'd be fine with these rods

you dont have a clue what you're talking about...Why do you call it an ebay rod? i dont understand, this isnt some $10 coilovers or $5 shifter...These are oem stock honda rods that have been polished, shotpeened, and have had arp rod bolts fitted...So you know 250whp is possible on bone stock rods,,so why is it so hard to believe that 300whp isnt possible with shotpeened rods and susuki vitara pistons? you have no experience obviously, but I do.
to the post right above d16a1 rods arent stronger,,maybe you meant to say use some machined b18a/b rods??? cause that's another option for the og poster and god knows the b-series rods are alot more stout from honda.

I would not trust anything so vital to the health of my motor to ebay sellers. You don't know what the fuck the seller did to those rods. He coulda just wiped them down with simple green and sold them. Just get some tuner toy rods for $90 more and know what you're getting. Plus they're a hell of alot stronger.
Vitara's have been proven, these rods most cerainly have not.

Ebay will F uck you like a cheap *****. trust me. it sucks ****. even strenthed rods wonth hamdle that much D16 rods are tiny. IF you are going to upgrade get so TT rods atleast . IF not go for eagles
Shot peening rods does not make them stronger( I was told this by a company that does this work) it eliminates surface defects that can cause the part to fail. They Magnaflux them to check for cracks and then blast them. This a quote from Peening Technologies:
"Shot peening is a cold working process used to increase the fatigue life of metal parts. Parts are bombarded with round steel, glass, or ceramic shot under controlled conditions to induce a stressed surface layer in compression. This surface layer inhibits the formation of tiny surface cracks which give way to fatigue failure."

****, use stock rods. So long as you maintain stock redline and get it tuned properly you should be able to make a D16A6 hit 220 no problem.

Yes. A local tuner around here tunes stock d-series bottom ends to 240-250 all the time.
I wouldn't feel safe driving it around, but it'd definiately been proven to work. I need a little more security, lol.

yeah its fine on a really really good tune and atleast 91 octane all the time. its all up to you though ,if you have the extra money for forged pistons and rods,30 overbore and honing then do it..this way you can up the boost whenever you want and wont be limited to around 200-240whp,,but more like 400whp+
