91 hatch
im sure you could boost it but the thing is your stock d15 is dpfi as in only 2 fuel injectors. now when you turbo you need more fuel thats why when you turbo a motor you get bigger injectors. and your motor only has 2 so it wont be able to supply enough fuel. but it still can be done.
dont buy any turbo kit on ebay. yes the d15 can handle turbo but why would you turbo that motor. if you want to stay sohc the turbo the z6 or the zc its alot better and you dont have to worry about the bullshit *** intake manifold swap your gonna want to do later if your not talkin about the d15b vtec, which i think your not. do more research on turbo's and motors berforeyou waste money in a lost cause.

for $1000, you could almost buy a b16 from hmotors.. but thats only the beginning.. you could get a d15b2 for $450 and have plenty of money left over, and 20 more horsepower, vtec, multipoint fuel injection, and a stronger engine all around. then if you spent your leftover money on a si trans, you would have a hot hatch for less than a grand.. if you are poor, as i am, its the best thing to do.
going turbo, while fun, is expensive. first you have the turbo kit. the quality of an ebay kit is questionable at best, so you can try to peice one together. junkyard turbo's usually need a rebuild on the order of $300, and you need a manifold, blow off valve, a wastegate(internal or external?), and a way to control boost so you only make the 5 lbs your engine can handle. then you need a pm6 ecu(which you do not have in the car) chipped to handle boost correctly, and then it needs to be tuned so you dont blow it up. in your case, you also need to do a multipoint conversion because the 2 baby injectors in the dpfi setup are not up to the task of a boosted setup.
cliffs: swap the engine with something you can afford on hmotors. d15b2 is a good choice. $450 for the swap, and its plug and play with the exception of vtec.
