Ok Guys next question.....what cosmetically is and isnt considered rice??? i mean...im doing a little cosmetically to my car so it doesnt look like *** (clearing the corners...tint, possibly getting bigger rims and low profiles....and touch-up paint job) but thats pretty much all im doing to it.....im more focusing on the hp and engine....like im getting a CAI and hopefully a catback and then saving up for a swap....is that rice??
oh im also thinking of making the taillights all red just cuz i really dont like amber....is that major rice?? i mean im not goingb body kit or altezzas or wing or anything so is it bad??? sorry for the dumb question, but up here in Ontario ppl seem to be more focused on the looks than performance and it pisses me off.

 

I don't thats rice at all, I actually think that your future mods to your car are pretty respectful in that sense that your doing what you like to do and not making your car seem like somthin that its not. I guess that people's defintion of "rice" will differ, but if your asking for my opinion, no what your doing to your car is not "rice", acutally it sounds alot like what i'm going to do with my car. so I hope that things go well with your future mods bro. take care.

 

hey thanks! ya i just wasnt sure cuz like there are cars that are quite obviously all looks and no ***** but im wanting to make it proportional.....i want my car to have ***** but not look like a piece of **** at the same time. so its pretty much like this: for every performance mod i do i then do a cosmetic mod . like today i just got my windows tinted and my emblums stripped because next week im getting a CAI put in. in a couple more weeks im clearing out the corners at the front and putting xenons and superwhites all through the front assembly cuz im also getting some sort of catback or exhaust...i just want it to balance out

please don't paint your taillights, and if you have a hatch don't buy rims bigger than 15inch. you're focusing on the engine, that's good. keep it up.

First of all you should never ask the people on these forums what, or what not, to put on your vehicle. Secondly I am a member of alot of honda forums, and this place has the worst taste of them all. A body kit is RICE???? Basically most of you "Rice Haters" feel that every modification to the appearance of a honda is now called rice. You want everyone to leave them stock and just do the performance upgrades. Why the hell would we all want our cars to look the same as yours?? I got one term for you. Suck This! Get a life and quit hating on those who have different aspirations than you. Do we hate you because you leave your car stock??? Didn't think so. There is an extreme difference between external aesthetic modifications and worthless, tasteless, plastic crap. As far as peoples opinions on this board, it seems as though your the one generalizing. This is a message board, for people to post their opinions. If you don't like the opinions you read on this board, oh great board traveler, don't read them, go back to Club Si and see who has the coolest new seat belt pad.

Rice is unnecessary modifications to your vehicle fore usually no other reason than to attract attention. This is what (most ) people on this board do not like. It has nothing to do with leaving your car stock, personal aspirations, or needing to get a life.

 

See I'm fairly new here and i also live in Canada and things are a bit different but i see it like this: everyone has their own style, and some people like to overdo it. in downtown Ottawa (where i live) there are lots of nice cars where all the cosmetic mods consist of just small things like giving your car a bit of a color motif and nice rims. for example, My car is all black with some red on the outside. Im not gona draw f*cking red flames and stuff on it, just a bit of red for contrast. Thats not what I wold consider rice. My engine mods are more important to me, but having a car that looks good is a very close second, as long as I don't go overboard on it. I mean seriously, can you imagine how GHEY a 91 accord would look with an 8 piece body kit and a 10 inch high wing? SICK

But hey whatever your name was, you say unnecessary modifications, that is a not only an ignorant term, but shows your lack of appreciation of others opinions and tastes. A body kit may be unnecessary for YOU and/or the goals for your car, but not for someone else. I have no problem with your opinion or anyone elses, but when people do it in an offensive manner towards someone else, to tear them down and make them feel like ****, that is when a problem arises. Some like show, some like go, well you know what, why not have the best of both worlds, and have show and go. So go ahead, and say nawwwws or whatever you want to do to try and make youself feel better by being an ***, but don't say that my mods are unnecessary.

BTW to be not rice you do basically have to be stock. If youc an't have a body kit, paint or vinal decals, big wings, what else can you do besides rims and maybe a little suspension work which isn't really cosmetic anyways huh??? Nothing, you have to leave it basically bone stock on the outside which to you is the way to go, but for me and others is not. AND by your definition of unnecessary mods, anyone who gets rims in a bigger size than 14 or 15 is a ricer, because there is no performance gain by getting bigger rims, in all actuality that is the one modification that loses the most horsepower in small engined automobiles.....so my last question is...WTF to have to say about that???

If that is your ride I am JEALOUS!! that is one of the nicest cars ive seen .....my friend has a CRX and he would die if he saw that. his is mostly stock except for lights and a little engine mods, but your car is something he would love to work towards.
