Default Philips HID kits

as the title states im looking at getting a Philips HID kit from a local shop. my question is, what color would you guys recomend 4300k or 6000k. IM going for light output and could really care less if it happens to have that cool blue look.

My guess is 4300k is what ill end up getting. (thats what BMW mercedes and audi use)

ALL factory HID systems use 4300K. 4300K is the way to go when it comes to light output because it is the brightest. Just so you know, once the bulbs are broken in they'll be a pure white color. When HID bulbs are brand new, they have a slightly more yellowish color than normal. This usually isn't too noticeable with the "colorful" HID bulbs. Just give it a couple months and any hints of yellow will be gone.

I have a 4300K kit in the car right now... I installed it probably 3 years ago or so. I'm quite happy with it, and I actually like the pure white color better than any slight blue or purple tint.

Neither. I have a 9006 HID kit in stock housings. Shhhhh...

I parked my car next to my friend's IS300 and visually compared the glare at different angles, up to a distance of about 500 yards. The glare on my car was never any worse than my friend's IS300.

I don't plan on keeping my Accord for more than another year, so a retrofit isn't worth it to me anymore. If I end up buying a newer Accord, I will definitely go with a retrofit instead of my current setup.

Another curious question...on some of the new cars, they come equiped from the factory with projector headlight, my question is, do all of those cars come with HID bulbs? because now that i start to look around, it seems that most do, but some dont.

Example: i was driving home from work today, and saw an oncomming jetta (newest body style) that had what appeared to ne stock projectors, but the light comming out of them looked as if it were produced by halgon bulbs.

thoughts?

having projectors doesn't mean you have HID's

Many cars have projectors without HID ( I believe the Integra is this way)

There are a lot of cars out there that have projectors but not HIDs. And yes, the Integra is a good example of one. It's the same thing the other way around... They are a lot of cars that have HIDs (from the factory) that do not have projectors. The IS300 was an example, as well as the last gen Acura CL, TL, and RL.
