Default Will a H23 block fit directly onto an H22a head? Please read inside

I am buying a 1998 Prelude 5speed (non-SH) from my friend. He just had a shop install a brand new head but now one of his rods is messed up (his engine is knocking). It wont be driven anymore even though at the moment it still runs. I have the tools and facilities to replace the short block. I was wondering....

will an H23 block bolt up to the new head and will it fit easily into the 98 prelude?

Theres a $300-400 difference in price for the longblocks (the H23 being cheaper) so if its not too complicated I would rather get the bigger and cheaper H23 block. But I'm not going to bust my *** for an extra month to save a few hundred bucks, only if its a virtual drop in.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
