Default Bay Area RSX-S Owners Beware - ECU Theft

So lately there has been a lot of ECU thefts for the 02-04 RSX-s's in the SF area(esp. Richmond/Sunset). Non of them are forced entry. All they want is the ECU and nothing else. Just wanted to warn you guys.

No, but it can be used for swaps and 05+ Kpro....

also the s/c wont work with the 06 ecu yet so they tell you to do an 02-04 ecu swap for them to work with less hassle til they get it sorted out

They go for ~$250 used. But they are mainly used for k20 swaps and kpro.

As K series swaps get more and more common... I see our cars ending up like the 95-01 GSR's (maybe not that crucial).... This sucks... As if I insurance was already high enough. Luckily I have an 06

Kpro also doesn't work on the 05+ ECU's. You have to buy an 02-04 ECU and conversion harness.

well... even if they steal the ecu... the car is in danger. i heard that if the ecu as kpro.. it'll just bypass the key, and they can still drive off with the car...

so either way... watch ya'll rides..

The reason of Kpro in swaps is cuz the ecu is equiped with the key gaurd. if you start the car without the origenal key it will run forl 2 minutes then auto shut off. Kpro gets rid of that so you wont have to do the whole rsx or whatever dash board. even tho that would be extremely sexy

Dont give false information.

Immobilizer is exacly as described in the name. The car will not start! With kpro you can turn immobilizer off and it will start.
