Default 88hf and 89 Si wiring harness compatibility

I have a b16a that was originally swapped into an 89 Si. I dropped it into my 88hf, got everything hooked up, but still now power. Even the gauge cluster won't light up. I've been trying to figure it out for a while, so I figured I'd post here. If I took the harness of of my old hf motor and put it on the b16, would it work? Is there something in the current wiring of the b16 that's not compatible with the chassis wiring? I already checked all the fuses and wired up a rywire harness.
