Default LS CEL Flashing and running poorly. %%UPDATE%%

98 Integra LS Automatic
123,000 miles
oil changed every 3k
plugs have been changed recently as have the plug wires.
fuel filter, pcv valve both changed recently.

alright on to the problem,

As stated above the check engine light flashes constantly from the time you start it till the time you turn it off.

The car starts without a problem, and when it is idling it acts as if it wants to die(almost as if a vacuum hose was lose). If you drive the car it hesitates, and the engine is very shaky, almost like a go kart, you can floor it and it just barely accelerates, roughly 20+ seconds to get up to 30mph.

Thought I'd press my luck here and see if anyone had any ideas as to what could be causing this.

I found one article that sounded very similar to my problem, but it was for a CR-V link posted below.

%%%%%%%UPDATE%%%%%%%

Alright guys I finally got the car back home, after driving it a little ways i noticed a few things that may help you out.

1. around the valve cover front and back there is oil leaking/seeping through (new head gasket?)

2. the worst cases of misfiring were at idle, obviously. second though anywhere under 2.5k rpm if I was accelerating it would vibrate as if it were misfiring majorly, above 3k it acted normal. (take a stab in the dark and say, the exhaust pressure at 2.5k-3k is enough to bypass/force the exhaust past the faulty/clogged catylic converter.)

3. If I look directly to the left and down some from the exhaust manifold (near the tranny) it has some major grease/oil all over it.

i heard a flashing CEL means serious misfire. which would explain alot of the symptoms that you've stated. but don't take my word for it cause i'm not positively sure.

Have you changed the cap & rotor recently? If not that could be the cause of the misfire.
