Is anyone else so tired of this?
Is anyone else so sick of warming your car up 10 -15 before you leave, it was 13 degrees this morning and i was running late so i didnt have time to warm it up and for about 15 mins of my ride to work the car just didnt want to go at all. The best part about it is i had the re flash and it still bucks and drives like **** cold and the rev hang is still there and if not worse, Just so fed up with honda i love the si but the cheap paint and all this driveablitly crap on a 6k mile car is just rediculous anyone else?
Mines an 07 and I do notice a little worse driveability in the start up drive. It last for like 2min. Our weather has been in the single digits and negatives this week too. I havent had any paint problems yet (knock on wood) has there been alot of issues??
they are fixing my paint feb 13th its peeling away along the inner brim on the driver side headlight and and fog lights alittle, my boy works for a cert honda collision center and he said hes been seeing it alot on the 06's
Is anyone not experiencing these rev hang issues at all?
I got my Si...in August 2006.
I don't notice any delay in revs dropping when I let off throttle. at all -.-
some ppl complain about throttle response too...I don't notice it---i think it's more lack of torque.
correct me if i'm wrong

a remote starter is not the point, plus its not that great of an idea with a car thats stick due to ppl leaving it in gear with the e brake up

Thanks for bringing the paint issue up I was about to contact the dealership also. The front bumper has been rubbing my left front headlight also, now the paint is peeling away. Great design....
i'm not having any of these problems and my si is as stock as they come. I haven't reflashed or repainted anything. So the answer is no, I'm not tired of it.
Also, a remote starter on a standard is dangerous and in some states illegal.

Sorry dude you're just gonna have to get used to it.
All about time management man. Gotta warm up the car and get the fluids circulating before you go out and jump on it, otherwise it's gonna act up on you. And if you try to force it you're probably gonna cause some damage. I wouldn't say you necessarily have to warm it up for 15 minutes, 5 minutes should do just fine. Just enough to get the oil circulating.

Dude don't be so critical, 13 degrees is pretty damn cold for a car to just up and run in. Why dont you get the engine heater installed?
I have no problems warming up my car,try getting up a little earlier..
But one thing i do have is that ridiculous rev hang, cant stand it already.

Does your remote start still crank over when it's really cold? Cars usually need to crank a little longer to get started when it's very cold outside and I thought that remote start is set on a timer.
I woke up today to 8 degree weather i always warm my car up for like a min or 2 then take off just keep light pressure on the throttle i no longer get bucking or surging unless i am lazy and i don't keep good coordination.
thanks guys for the fedback and i havent really been minding on the warmer days bec the oil is not dick cold , it just days ive been running alittle late, oh well oh and a big

also in european cars, they use an auxilary electric water pump to get the heated coolant from the motor into the heater core faster. these can be seen on mercedes (W202/208 models passenger side of motor) vw (under the coil pack on VR6) and volvos (same place as mercedes). They costs around $100 and can be installed anywhere there is a heater hose, and 12v. they are about 6" long. It makes the car warmup around 2 min.
I have an 07 civic hybrid, 1.3L... and even in so cal, it takes 10 min to even register 1 click on the temp gauge
try the electric heater, it works, or do as Demonis said, electric heaters do the trick

Nope...can't say I've experienced this problem but then again...down here in south Florida we don't see temps like that. Can't relate. Sorry. It was only 73 this morning on my ride to work...had to open the sunroof it was actually getting hot inside.
I'm going to get so flamed for this it ain't even silly.
HAHAHAAHAHAHA
Of course, I did move to South Florida from Ohio just for this very reason...so y'all come down now y'hear?

Same here! as long as your smooth the car barely bucks and within a mile ALL symptoms are gone. The thing that bothers me with this car is the ppor materials, the drivability is great.

My personal expierence has been that starting up at 6:00AM with NEGATIVE 11 degree weather out, is that once my car hits 1500RPM, I'm good to go. Very little bucking or DBW lag at the start, and after about a mile, things are good to go and warmed up. Of course it is dry as hell out here, so that may have a positive impact on the start-up and warm-up of the car.
Also, my car has less than 4K miles and it's a 2006 Si which I bought in September last year.
