Default 2007 Skunk2 Pro Series H22 IM claims "Outperforms Euro-R manifold by up to 8hp and 6tq at wheels

From Skunk2 2007 E-catalog:
"Outperforms Euro-R manifold by up to 8hp and 6tq at wheels"
I think this is a pretty incredible claim. I would like to see a dyno and what engine setup was used to produce these numbers. If this manifold is intended for highly modified motors, I think they should say so. I mean, they say that some of their cams are for "race-only" motors.

Stage III: Stage III profiles are designed for purpose-built race engines with high-rpm capabilities only! Upgrading to Skunk2 Racing valvetrain components and extensive engine work is required for the proper functioning of these camshafts. Compression and engine flow must also be significantly increased. Stage III camshafts should be installed and tuned by professional engine builders only! Do not use oversized valves.

I was very dissapointed in my Skunk2 IM(non pro-series). So I do have bias, I just want to get that out there right now.

I don't want to trash Skunk2 they make great products, I was just dissapointed with the H22 IM.

I'd like to see a dyno done by an independent party first....

I am sure that Skunk will release dyno results. The whole question is what do you have to do to your engine to make power with the IM.

Looks like they are out to gain the H series guys back from their last H22 IM bust. But i would like to see dynos also, perferbly on a stock motor or atleast with I/H/E, stock cams stock bottom end.

those numbers would be a decent gain on a stock motor.

The key part of that paragraph is "up to 8hp"

They make great products, I was just really let down with the 1rst gen IM. To be honest, I felt very mislead as a customer. If the manifold was meant only for built motors they should of said so. Don't there B series manifolds make good power with just I/H/E? I was expecting the same thing. In anycase, I hope they get it right this time, lol.

Skunk 2 never advertised that their IM would make power on a STOCK motor. They do advertise that you will make power with cams and valvetrain upgrades (at least cams that are as aggressive as Skunk).

^ I know what you mean. The only point I am trying to make is that Skunk never advertised that their IM will make power on a stock engine.

The graphs you refer to show that it makes power when used with cams...

Its called a selling point like a DC header really gains 12-14 hp. Look at it this way it has to be better than the last ones they built right

Skunks website is where I saw it. They put it out with their regular (non pro) cams.

gotcha. yea i never saw it. I hope their new manifold rocks. I have their springs and retainers, skunk2 seems like a good company, just was dissapointed w/the mani. Does anyone know where the Stock vs Skunk2 vs Euro-R dyno is? I've heard it's on here but i can't find it.

The B-series manifold is an ITR copy with a flange to fit the other B-series heads.

2point6, who I believe was running a 2.4L h motor at the time lost power with the s2 manifold.

Does this thread mean they have redesigned it?
