deck plates and honing??
should i be worried about getting my block honed and not using a deck plate? ive been reading up on it and apparently when you torque down the head on a closed deck block the cylinder walls could possibly deform a little. is there truth behind that? i mean we are only talking 73 ft-lbs for the head bolts. do most shops use a deck plate? i would really doubt it.
the pistons ive got are just over what the bore is now. they dont fit in there at all. i was thinking maybe i could just get a dingle hone and taking the glaze off would be enough to get them in. but now im not sure. any advice would be great
