Cold outside n teggy won't start
Morning HT! i rarely post here cuz there is so much information. I have a quick question and i'm hoping you guys can help.
i have a 95 gsr which has given me no problems in the one year i've had it. aside from regular maintenance that is. Its been really cold in New England the last couple of days and my teggy has started every morning. today i went to start it and it kept cranking but wouldn't turn over. I knew it was going to be cold so i made sure i had a full tank of gas as well. i checked my oil level and it was ridiculously low. (turns out i have a leaky oil pan gasket)
I have a buddy who is going to give me a ride to the parts store later on so i can get some mobil 1 5w30 and an oil filter cuz the car is due for the oil change anyway. when he gets here we're gonna try n jump the car incase the battery is low. if that doesn't work what are some other things i can try?
I was thinking that if those 2 things i stated don't work then i can pick up a cap n rotor, some plugs n wires, seeing as its almost time for a tune up . My younger brother seems to think its the distributor...
any thoughts on what else could cause it not to start? that i may have missed? or any tips on things to try before i go spend a few hundred bucks?

how cold was it overnight? here in Ottawa canada it was -22F (-30C) with the windchill and the family car wouldnt start in the morning.
Did you use the block heater? you should have a plug for your car to plug it into a outlet and your car should start within couple hours.

well after a jump it started right up so it may be time for a new battery. gonna change the oil to 5w30 too. last oil change i put 10w30 cuz i wasn't payin attention! and a block heater may not be a bad idea either

I think if the integra's didnt come with the block heater it may cost some $$$$$ to put it in. keep in mind the block heater on the family car I was talking about was from a 02 grand am so its an american car and it does come with a block heater installed from factory.
also when you're buying a battery check for the CCA (cold cranking amps) so it can start easier in the harsh blistering cold weather's we have.

integrada9... from what i read here on hT the block heater is only around 40 bucks or so and should take about 30 minutes or so to install.

isoheat is isopropyl alcohol. comes in a little bottle. they should sell it at the gas stations around you. it keeps the gas lines from freezing up when water gets in the lines.
