Default Oil mixing into coolant system - possible causes??

My 99 Accord Vtec had oil mix into the cooling system and clogged up the radiator like REALLY clogged) and overheated. We pressurized the heads and block to check for cracks, checked the head gasket and they were all fine. Any ideas as to another way the oil could get into the cooling system if it was not the engine???

nope, sorry to say but it's probably your head gasket.

That's what we thought and replaced the head gasket but it happened again. Any other thoughts??

did you have the head checked for straightness by a machine shop before replacing the gasket? did you check the block deck for straightness?

the other possibility I can think of is a cracked sleeve.

honda had a problem with F23 blocks. some of them develop a crack between the water jacket and the pressureized oil passages. you get oil in coolant but no coolant in oil. the solution is to replace the block.

I put 2 HG and a new head on my car before I said expletive it and replaced the motor.

a quick search turns up these threads.

and there are more, but you get the point.

if you got coolant in the oil, and had that muck in your crankcase, then just replace the motor, your bearings are toast anyway.

I've already replied to your other post but.. Some 4 cylinder accord engines have been found to have porous blocks.. Meaning, oil can seep into the cooling passages of the block.. If you take it to the dealer and ask about the problem, you might get an answer.. Or just call up american honda and complain like crazy.. As to whether or not it's a real service bulletin, i can't remember. But I do know we've done a few of them already..
