If you read flowcharts, this says volumes. This head made 222 Dynojet WHP on an 87.2mmx81.5mm 11.5:1 motor with Toda C's.

i swear someone is setting this stuff up. with all due respect to jeff because ive bought alot of stuff from him i recently flowed my IB head. lets just say it didnt flow too well. on the upside of things though it was all because of the valve job. i wont give exact #s due to the 2 parties involved but i gained ALOT of flow from just a VJ alone. the heads ports are very small which equals high velocity. the other party involved was really impressed with the portwork actually.

side note: on my particular motor this head still put down very respectable #s with only a blanket AF change across the board. we did no timing changes and only made 1 cam gear adjustment (which ended up losing power) before the throttle body shaft broke on the dyno. i laid down the most HP my car has ever made and was working on laying down new ground at the track until my exhaust cam gave shortly thereafter.

Not flowed...

Stage 2.

Also, I was not informed that it was milled a lot (core was provided by Jeff) and cam cap are quite worn.

i wasnt supplied a flow sheet with the head.
after my exhaust cam broke it was decided to check to see what the thing flowed. i sent it to a trusted head porter who flowed it for me. as i said, he was impressed with the headwork but was unimpressed with the valve job.
i did contact jeff who flowed another head with the same program my head had. it flowed very well. i dont know what happened to my head cause im not the one that did the work. however, after the head received a new valve job it produced #s that i expected to begin with.

Its hard to say how an "IB" head performs or what an "IB" head is for that matter. Jeff has switched his cylinder head sources/porters several times over the last couple few years so peoples opinions and performance results are going to be all over the place. He started out selling portflow heads, Alaniz, Than cnc heads from a v8 shop, then jg, etc. Who knows who hes dealing with now for head work. The point is, "IB" heads, porting methods, head quality, head performance, head pricing, head components, as well as Jeff's opinions on what makes a good cylinder head, change with each new head porter he meets and deals with.

Your better off going direct to a company like Portflow, RLZ, JG, etc.

Exactly... But that also goes for alot of the stuff in this market.. all rebadged stuff..

Go with Rlz , Headgames, Alaniz. they are head porters for a living. If you want to run Ib stuff stick to his pistons..

Not relabeling is the main problem with Jeff, but:
-paying attention to ship what was ordered/agreed and paid
-product quality is not always good
-"remember" what he built or sold to his customer
-keep promised delivery deadline
-give support if necessary
-do not only concentrate on selling more... I mean If U clearly want a piston he makes an offer on a sleeved block

Didn't Jeff used to list different head porters he used on his website and give you a choice of who you wanted to go with? I seem to remember that on the website like 3 years ago or so.

Bad mouthing someone's business because you have personal issues
This thread is in reference to IB heads. My IB head flowed very well on a third parties' flowbench with stock valves, made very good power, and was generally very well put together. The IB head beat another head by another porter by 10 whp with the same motor on the same dyno.

You cant compare a head Jeff got for you a couple of years ago to the heads hes buying/selling now. They arent the same. Sources, port styles, theories, etc, have all changed a couple of times since then, at least.

on a side note its a warning to everyone: check where your springs bind at!!!!! my *** just got saved via the guy that has my head currently. my springs were binding at .500 which is where my new cams max lift is at. i know how to measure install height but i dont have the proper tooling to do it. my springs now bind at .560
im using RM springs/retainers.
o yeah gen 2s.
