This is a dumb question...but I'm curious.

I just changed my oil and screwed in a new oil filter dry. I then poured in the oil into the egine....then..DOH!..I'm a complete idiot..I forgot to add oil around the new oil filter and just screwed it in dry...I've already driven the GS-R..any damage..some guys pour a little fresh oil in the oil fiter...What do you guys think?..

 

I dont think it should be a prob. but i could be wrong.. i doubt it would do anything serious if it is a prob.. but i really doubt it will do anything!

 

shouldnt do any harm...the only real reason for putting a little oil on the rubber on the filter is just so as it seals properly and makes it a little easier to get off again, but you should be ok.

 

if you start to notice an oil leak... change it asap.

 

yeah there shouldn't be a problem unless the rubber gasket around the oil filter got pinched in some way. thats the reason why they tell you to lube up the inside of the filter first.
