Default 94 Accord, Cam Gears?

I just bought an adjustable cam gear for my 1994 accord, it has the f22b sohc, no v-tec here. However, I already had to replace the engine once due to snapped timing belt which messed up the valves and a piston. So I'm wondering how far can I safely advance the timing without having to worry about the valves and pistons hitting? The gear adjusts from +/- 10 degrees. I was thinking + 2 or 3 degrees, is there any logical benefit to going higher/lower? Also, do I need to adjust the valves after I install the adjusted cam gear? Thanks for any help.
