question about bypass valve....aem cold air intake
where exactly should the bypass valve be mounted on the intake......I have a one piece pipe....so should I cut it and put the bypass valve in the middle.....any pics would also help
yeah i'm pretty sure you'll have to cut it .... i think most people do it down where the pipe goes straight again on the bottom, where there's plenty of room for the larger diameter....
Cut it in the middle and install it there. The point in having one is so you dont suck up water when you run over a puddle (or flood like my g/f
), if the main filter gets cloged then it sucks air through the bypass valve, instead of sucking in all the water. If you put the bypass valve on the bottom, when you run over a puddle if it is deep enough both will be in the water and defeat the purpose. I installed one on my girl's car and it was real easy, and it looks ok.

As long as you make the cut somewhere under the hood, about midway, you're kool, just like what the other guys said---personally I'd go with out the bypass valve, you really don't need it. It'll save you a lot of time cutting and hassle if you don't anyways...
I waited to put mine on and its well worth it you dont want to risk the engine getting all wet and **** i would put it on its simple to do
ok i let my little bro step on the gas while i observe the bypass vlave and i poke it and i cud feel the air passing through. fawkk man its like i have 2 air coming in the filter and the bypass filter lols im getting a ram instead screw cai with bypass valve
