woohoo.. custom exhaust installed today. I decided to keep the orginal 2 1/4" piping. They took the cat out and switched the muffler. More open muffler, very nicely done. The sound is not very loud but very very deep. Simon "RedIntegraR" took some pics, gona post them later...
I´m a little frustrated by the look of the tip, the muffler is placed very high so the tip is bent to come out under the fender..

about the tip placement, you gotta keep in mind that its hicks or illegal immigrant mexicans working on your car... not much taste on their part, so you gotta watch em and make sure its done right.

While I don't agree with the actual post, I do agree with the point he's trying to make about muffler shops. The muffler shop I went to screwed my DC Sports JDM/Carsound setup I brought in. They cut off half of the header and put their own flange onto it instead of making one to match the header flange like I asked. The welds on the header and/or cat are leaking as well because I've had a CEL the whole time I had the setup. They also hacked my Comptech, so now I can't really sell it. All in all a bad experience at the muffler shop, I am getting the full HyTech exhaust and never looking at a muffler shop again.

I seriously doubt that the man the worked on my car has any relation to mexico or hicks of that matter

anyway.. it´s all VERY nicely done, what I was meaning about the tip is because of the high position of the new muffler they had to bend the tip to make it come outside and under the fender so it wouldnt melt or smoke my ***. A buddy has a imported ITR from Germany, he has a custom exhaust and the muffler is just like mine. They who installed his had a DTM tip on the muffler so it would come out under the fender... I dont think I want to go that way because so many boy-racers over here have DTM tips and I dont want to be one of them.

 

What is your exhaust setup now? What header, cat, stock B-pipe? Are the pictures ready?

 

- stock header, still looking around, probably going for DC JDM as soon as somebody I know goes to the states.
