All I do is auctions now. Im not sure what you call a full time auction buyer but I work less 40 hours a month make more than when I had my shop and have almost zero problems. I miss the old shop in some ways other not but Ill go back to it when my daughter starts preschool in 2-3 years, Spending my days with her is the best thing ever.

Since I go to almost every auction in my area you get on the their mailing list and youll get some info in the mail My buddy and I go to estate sales to help him funish his new house. We got him Kennmore elite washer and Dryer for less $100. Subzero Fridge. Flat screen tvs etc all dirt cheap just gota be patient.

Pshhhh, that's nothing. Come back when you get some K&T or Toshiba machining centers, the ones that cover >800 sq feet.
I just finished installing one that would fit a CRX on it's bed. My boss has connections and gets these kinds of machines very cheaply. His most recent purchase is still on the trailer - a lathe that accepts parts >25' long.
As soon as I get some cash I'd love to get a small mill & lathe. Given some time, the things you can make are almost unlimited. As long as the electronic readouts on the BP's work, it was most likely a great deal on them.

$750 for the clausing then $100 for union electricans to disconnect it. I can easily say why the auto industry in america is broke. they told me it takes 5 guys and $700 to change a light bulb

2k and 3k But the union eletricans and Certified riggers all but killed the deal. I wont loose money but Im keeping the 3 axis selling my old one i bought for 1500 so it will all work out in the end and cost me near nothing for the new one. The last bridgeport I bought I sold for over 5k. Powerfeeds DRO, vises collets tooling etc and I had 2.5k in it

Ive bought bridgeport cheaper as in less than 1000 but lately they have been commanding an outrageous premium in my area and I easily get 5k for a bridgeport with a single power feed, DRO, vise collets hold down etc

It's the press bed that gets expensive. That thing cracks, ooh. Wait 2 years and a lot of money for a new one or 1/4 of the cost and 1/10 the time to get it welded.
