Default Installing Aftermarket Head Unit on 07 LX Coupe?

I'm picking up an '07 LX Coupe this next week and I was wondering if it is even possible to put a head unit on it? The stock head unit looks integrated to the dash, like it can't be removed? Someone school me... please.

This has been covered before, but it's possible.

You would need to buy a dash kit, a wiring harness, and that's really about it. They have dash kits on http://www.crutchfield.com or you can go factory and get a dash kit for a navi civic... all dependent on you, just make sure you get the color right, or else you'll be pissed.

Anything else, or is it just the headunit?

Just the head unit... I was more so just wondering if it was possible. How's the standard head unit that is in it? One of the main things I want to do is have a direct hook up to my iPod so that I can control it from the unit, Hondas iPod music link is a POS though. Is it worth the trouble? Or should I just stick with the MP3/AUX line in that comes standard and bypass getting a new headunit?

Thanks for the reply!

Well bud, I guess it all really depends on what you want. I haven't really experienced the ipod music link from Honda so I can't judge it, but some aftermarket head units come with ipod links as well, mine did. So if your main idea is to have direct ipod access and you don't want to spend alot of money, go with the Honda ipod music link, if you got cash to blow, go with a whole new setup.

The factory radio is just fine. It's an anti-theft one so it's pretty much useless to anyone that takes it out. Dash kit will probably run you some change though whether you go through the dealer or not cause it replaces the whole trim piece surrounding the radio and A/C controls.

My setup including dash, wiring, head-unit, subs, box, amp, new rear speakers, harness's probably ran in or around the amount of $1,500.

I think I'm just going to go with this aftermarket iPod link here. The main thing I'm looking for is sound quality, as high as I can get, and this is as close I'm going to get [I assume?] without installing a brand new head unit/dash. That Honda music link is ~$400 installed [in my price range, but overpriced!!!] and has nothing but negative comments about it... Thanks for the help though guys, I really appreciate it.

The system was probably the best part of that car too

Sadly enough yes it was the best part. The car was still good though. Had some nice pickup even with a 150lb. system in the trunk for a small *** 2.7L V6. Never gave me any problems, but the performance could have been better!
