Default How much boost on an LS mtor with stock internals

hey guys, i have a stock LS motor, with 440cc injectors, i am putting a GSR head on it and getting it dyno tuned, the car is a every day driver, what is a realistic amount of boost it can handle and still be realiable for me, right now my LS is boosting at 11lbs, i just want to know if i can go higher then that safely for a daily driver on stock in ternals if i get it properly dyno tuned first, any experience or help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

What size turbo?

With the current 440's, I'd say 10-12psi max.

Get some bigger injectors. With that turbo, 300-350whp WITH A GOOD CONSERVATIVE TUNE. Don't worry about how much psi it takes to get there.

ya but i have stock internals, thats why im curious to know how much boost they can handle, and to be honest i would like to avoid getting bigger injectors becase i just bought the 440cc a few months ago and they werent cheap, i already have a dyno tune lined up

my 440cc injectors with 13lbs of boost will be good, because a LS vtech with 13lbs, is less then 300WHP, please correct me if im wrong

my friend boosted his ls for 3 years now pushing close to 300 hp. More then that is getting risky.

I'd say 300whp on a stock LS head, 350 whp w/ a Vtec head. Yes, on stock internals. But, you don't have the fuel anyway, so your going to max your fuel system before you reach the stock internal limits. Your injector duty is going to be the deciding factor here.

I'm going to have to say that the Weak point of your future setup will be the oil pump(if you arent upgrading to ITR and/or rebuilding the bottom end)

Common failures in the VTEC conversion is the oil pump, which the VTEC setup needs more oil obviously to make VTEC work. Add the fact that you have more oil to pump into the turbo system, equals the need to have a better oil pump than the stock LS pump

Relax buddy, OP means original poster. What did you think it meant? And I wasn't being condescending towards you, I was merely clarifying what exospeedAMcrx had said about the Vtec oil/water pump and belt.

I don't know how much boost your ls/vtec can handle but I made 497 at the wheels on a bone stock ls/vtec with an autozone head gasket.

seriously, 300 hp and basically 230 tq, is a 2600 lb car, your gonna dust with it.

heck, 260 and 200, with honda's power band being up till redline, your done.

id say, start with a bit of boosta. and then raise the boost to the max.
