Oh no! Please don't do that to a CRX! The rear hatch looks great the way it is....

Yup, probably street mod. While you could argue that its a cosmetic body kit and can be run in ST2 class, its some serious weight reduction to pull the rear glass isn't really going with the intent of the body kit rule.

It's not allowed in either. The ST rules list the parts of a body kit allowed to be substituted for the stock pieces, the hatch is most certainly not on that list.
Likewise, Street Mod does not list the hatch or trunk as a panel allowed to be replaced.
Might be allowed in D-Modified or E-Modified if you believe that "The shape of the body must remain recognizable as that of the manufacturer’s make and model" still applies. Otherwise, the car is classified as a 'special' and goes straight to A-mod where you run against THIS GUY:

So uh, good luck with that. Don't do it anyway, it's ridiculous looking and cuts into valuable tire-toting space.

Just make sure you get a couple of hotties in bikinis to accompany you and then tell people there's a hot-tub under the hatch and they'll let you run in stock. LOL...

I think you will find that EP is the "lowest" class that allows replacing the hatch. But then you can go with a lightweight one and use lexan windows too.
That is possibly the ugliest thing Ive ever seen on a CRX ever.
I would guess EP as well, but youll be at a hell of a disadvantage against the more prepared cars (lexan windows etc - not really good for DD).
