Default m2b4 tranny? (searched)

hey guys i just bought a 93 hatchback and i am building a h22a swap for it.
i have a chance to buy a m2b4 tranny, but my question is how much power can these trannys handle and still be dependable?
im not tottally decided on my hp goals yet but gonna try to shoot somewhere between 350-450hp.

will this be a good tranny of choice?
also what would one of these be worth for a slightly used one?

thanks guys.

I dont know about reliability but that specific tranny is usually reserved for all-motor applications because of its short gearing. I doubt you will be going allmotor if your planning for 350-450whp. A regular H22 tranny with carbon coated syncros and an LSD would be a good choice. And you wont have to deal with the hasel of finding gears/parts for the JDM tranny.

Me personally am going to run a Quaife LSD, mainly because of the good reputation and quality, but there are others out there. http://www.gearspeedinc.com offers carbon coated services and LSD units.

hey man thanks that really helps.

i know the quaife is prolly the best, but have you heard anything about the OBX LSD?

they say if you tear it down and inspect it, it will perform just as well? (just what i heard)

as has been said before, the OBX is hit or miss, some people have a great time with it, others have their transmissions ruined...I wouldn't risk my $500 transmission on one, but hey to each his own

They can handle plenty of power in stock form, just don't try and mash the gears super fast, thats what ruins cable shifted transmissions....
