yea, who cares about all that dohc vtec nonsense. I mean, honestly, 1 cam weighs less....less rotational inertia being robbed for your engine, also if you want aftermarket 1 cam is cheaper than 2 and also 1 camgear. Man, that silly vtec everyone is after. I've hear that the extra vtec lobe weighs down the cam, not to mention all the pins in the rocker arms and the hydraulic system and vtec solenoid. Thats got to start making things heavy.... Silly dohc vtec... I mean who would would want individual cam lobes to swirl air for better fuel atomization? Who would want another higher lift and longer duration lobe at higher rpm to allow for greater air flow and velocity? Who would want a higher redline for carrying the gears farther to maximize gear potential? Silly people...

no it is not...that's nonvtec, the f22b1 is the vtec model (what is found in the 5th gen EX Accords).

ya vtec and dohc is cool i mean its like an extra 50hp and 15ft-lbs and is so crazy when vtec kicks in at my last 1500 rpms so my weak power doesnt drop off so fast, but all im sayin is i can drop $2000+ on a dohc vtec motor or $450 at my local junk yard on an accord motor and throw 1200 into some parts and tuning and have 240ft-lbs and if i blow it my local junkyard has a pile of them, plus no one is gona steal my car for my accord motor

or you could do what I and many others are doing, buy the f22 block, I got one for free, but I think you can pick them up for like 100-150$, and put an h22 head on it ~$500 for all the parts you'll need like lower timing gears, water pump, ecu and basicly all you need. ~$800-900 for some forged rods & pistons, ~$1300 for a decent turbo, turbo parts, and fuel components so if you take all those numbers at the max $2850 for a engine capabable of about 400whp granted you have the space and tools to build an engine. I even posted that number a little on the high side because I figured many of you would say its too cheap, anyway I'm throwing the idea of an H22 vtec head out there, you could pickup everything you need for around $500-600

i dont think its worth all the work, i dont really need 400whp, 200hp in my civic is barely useable on the street as it is, unless i invest in some slicks but i dont see the point, i dont go to the track
