What up, yos. I just bought a 99 GSR tonight, and i was wondering where (if anywhere) i could find what services have been done. Is there an Acura service database? I know there's a recall database. This guy had services done at acura dealers, but i need to know if the timing belt has been changed. There was a sticker on the timing cover, but the steam cleaning from the dealership made this sticker unreadable. thanks guys!
I don't know if Acura has a history database. I would imagine they would and can pull it up with your VIN. How do you know he didn't have work done at Toms Auto repair or wherever? Congrats on the purchase.
If you can't find anything on it being serviced I reccomend going ahead and having the timing belt and water pump replaced with a tune up. Keep it running good and make sure the first investment is security as I am sure you already know.

I am not sure; but I would imagine if he DID take it to an acura dealer they should have a record. As when they do most repairs they do write down the vin and other information. I am sure they put it in a database. However; who knows how long they store the information for? Could be days, weeks, months, ??? They prolly have a mass flow of information so I could not see many benefits that out weigh the costs of them keeping extensive records of customers cars for an extended period of time, I could be wrong though.
I would contact nearest Acura dealer, they would be able to help you better (hopefully). Or try to contact the dealership he claims to have the work done; give them all info on the car and previous owners name and see if they can dig up some information on it.
That would be my first steps.
