don't listen to daammmn...
2.5" may be overkill if you're pretty much stock. 3" is DEFINITELY too large for any N/A integra.
Most aftermarkets will be around 2.36" range so I'd say go with a size around that instead of a 2.25".
Also with a stock engine, you probably shouldn't have stuck an IM on yet.

what would be wrong with running a IM right now?

nothing "wrong" per say.. but you are probably losing a decent amount of low and midrange power with that IM. Espcially on the stock ECU (vtec switch over is too low for that IM). There are gains to be had up top, but if you are still on stock cams, you really aren't able to use the rpm range the manifold was intended for.

Plus, the stock exhaust manifold is still choking off some high end power, cancelling out potential gains the IM would give you. Usually, you'd want intake/header/exhaust before you moved to cams, and an IM.

A 2.25" exhaust will be fine for most NA builds. you can make more peak power with a 2.5", provided you build a more radical motor and/or increase displacement, but you can lose some throttle response at lower rpms. Just something to think about if its your daily driver.

well only reason id consider getting the IM is because i plan on beeing turboed by summer. as for the exhaust im not going to be using one once turboed, just downpipe.

Well summer is not that far away so there is no reason to waste money on an exhaust that will be no good to you then.

I gotta go against this idea if its a DD. Man those fumes are going to be all over you. Your clothes will smell like raw exhaust fumes even on short rides. And breathing in those unburnt hydro carbons isnt good for your health. But it sounds wicked and spool times are great

2.5 inch will be less gas pressure causing a deeper tone and not alot of resonance and sound much better i fugured this out on my teg the hard way. i would also recommend a resonator to help lower the sound levels but it will not change the tone or you can install a glass pack backwards and it will help to just as long as you muffler is flanged for a 2.5in

Already have a few friends that run it, not a problem really.

Just save your money and get everything all together when you turbo. What's the point of buying an exhaust just to replace it with another one in 6 or 7 months.

Ohhh of course not, only that you can hear the car miles away,
and also can't hear yourself think when on partial throttle..

The motor is already out, thats why I plan on doing it now. Knock out all that I can now while its out.

installing an exhaust really has no bearing on if the motor is in or not. You can do it anytime, it doesn't make it easier with the motor out. I'd actually prefer to have the motor in, just to make sure everything lines up right with the manifold/header.

when asked about FI, first you said
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">it's going to be awhile till i do. will 2.5 be overkill for just basic bolt on gsr?</TD></TR></TABLE>

so people reccomended some things based on a "basic bolt on gsr". Did you suddenly change your mind to go turbo in a few months? just wondering because I would have typed out something completely different if you said you were going turbo in the summer.

I have 2.5 on my LS CRX and I love it. granted its prolly overkill for my setup, I have a stock LS block with just intake DC Sports header and 2.5 inch exhaust all the way back. but i plan on running a turbo within the next few months so we'll see how it works.
