No clutch pedal...
Car has a stock D15B1 4 spd manual(91 STD hatch).Lately my clutch pedal was feeling weird, kind of sticky and a little harder to push down. Well today I lubed the pedal and everything up under the dash for the clutch with white lithium grease and it worked for a little making it smooth again and getting rid of the squeaking. Later on while I was driving, I pushed in on the clutch pedal and it felt/sounded like a popping and the pedal just went to the floor and then I had no more clutch feel/control. I pulled out the cable thinking that I broke the cable and it seems to be fine and all in one piece. So now I don't know what could have happened unless I can't tell the difference between a broken cable and one that isn't. Also I'm pretty sure the disc and pressure plate aren't a issue as I was able to turn off the car and put it in 1st and then start it to finish driving to my girlfriends house. And the lever that the cable connects to seems ok from the outside. I don't know if maybe it could be the realease fork or bearing. Anyone have any ideas or have had this happen before. Sorry for long post, just wanting to make sure to get all the info there.
You could have broken most of the cable but not tore it in half. If two or more of the strands in the cable break, it can stretch and make your pedal go to the floor, but technically not be in two pieces.
Also check your pedal cluster to make sure you didn't bend/break any welds.
