vafc 2 is it worth $160
A VAFC or any of these type of air/fuel controllers are not very good for your car.......PERIOD. The only way these adjust your stock ECU bin/map is by manipulating some other component in your car i.e O2 sensors. In all honesty, you want your car to last a while in between rebuilds? Go treat it right and get it tuned for real. Screw Hondata, any tuner will tell you the best for almost all honda's is 9 times outta 10 going to be crome
. You've already got a chipped ecu so why not just get a good tuner with a eprom burner and have them tune your car?

I'm just not a big fan of their program setups or anything for that matter. Like when street tuning, it's almost as if you have to have 2 people driving just to get decent readings in datalogging so you can tune the car properly. Crome is a much easier base, but something even better for the average joe for street tunes is the innovate LM-1. Those are by far one of the best wideband o2 meter/tuners out on the market IMO.

I strongly disagree. Crome works, and they have added a bunch of features to make it almost comparable to Hondata. But for reliable datalogging and programming ten times out of ten, Hondata is better than Crome.

Judging by this eloquent statement, you are an informed, educated authority and should be heeded accordingly

I'll say this and have it be the end all of end alls.
To each......their own. I dont personally think that Hondata is all it's cracked up to be but you do and thats that. We do our work with what we've got and what we are good with and thats all that matters.

WAIT A MINUTE...
Let's all hop off the bandwagons for a minute.
If you have a mild setup.. VAFCs work GREAT and they're simple to use. All you need is a wideband.
If you can achieve the AFR you want with a VAFC, and you don't want to hassle with a computer then by all means. Keep it.

This is very true but...........When it comes right down to it would you rather have a VAFC or just spend about the same money (new) on a Innovate LM-1? Anybody that answers this with the VAFC obviously hasnt used the LM-1 so dont bother chiming in.
Also, to the O/P........Your retarded, you come in and ask for our advice and opinion and just neglect all the information we gave you.

I run a VAFC on OBD0 with an LM1.
198whp ftw.
There are no expert hondata tuners here in eastern NC that I know of... or I would run it. Oh well.

I have an LM-1 that is a couple of years old. Have they added some engine management features? To my knowledge, the LM-1 is just a wideband with lots of bells and whistles. Can you control the A/F with the LM-1 now?

As r&d has cautgh up to the tuning world, so much is now available for tuning the Honda's ecu. Hondata, Uberdata & the list goes on. Hate to admit it but I still have my VAFC2 in line even though I had the Hondata S200 running the show. Just really made a cool "bling-thing" & did use some of it's funtions like the volt meter, tps & the tach setting as a **** light. (I know, cheesy
) Also, check out http://www.PGMFI.org. Happy tuning.

The LM-1 has come along way. I personally believe that they are the best and only tool needed for a great street tune. If you want to go all out you could get the aux box but I wouldnt bother.
Just get crome pro and use that for datalogging.
Or use your Hondata setup. S300 is very nice for the average DIY'er all you need to do is read and understand whats going on.
