i have a set of rims, and one has a slight crack in it. I dont think it is all the way through.....how can i do a quick fix just to get rid of the cracked look? (like fill it with something and use touch up paint to go over carefully?)


also.....anyone know where....if i were to int he near future buy more rims/ tires....i want those little bad @$$ 4 lug 15" drag wheels for my civic......and also how much they run for $$$? preferably black....or gold/bronze........

 

you can't fix a crack ifi ti is one of the spokes of the wheel... the wheel is defective and should be sent back to the manufacture for a new wheel... depending on where the crack is .... pic's please and i can help you more

 

If the wheel is cracked then there is no quick fix. If the material you use to fix the rim lets go, you'll lose tire pressure at a rapid rate depending on speed and that could be deadly. Imagine doing 70mph on the highway and get a blowout, is it really worth it?

I'm a parts manager and the wheel repair companies I use won't repair cracked rims due to liability reasons.

 

I'd deffinitely be weary of a cracked rim..that's a big safety risks to yourself and to others. You may be able to take it to a wheel shop and see if it's repairable but I'd just look for another set.

and for cracked wheels u would need to talk to a professional wheel repair shop about your particular situation. they would have to pressure test the crack and tell u if it is repairable and safe to roll on again after.
