Default Quick question.

Posted: Wed Jan 24, 2007 5:27 pm Post subject: Hole in engine block?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got a question for you all.

I just bought a 1997 Civic EX. The previous owner claims that there's a hole in the block. Supposedly you can feel the hole and he said it's about the size of your fist. I went and looked at the car yesterday, but couldn't see the hole. He says it's directly under the intake manifold.

The thing that makes me wonder is the fact that he says the car will still start and run.

Is this possible? He obviously hasn't thrown a rod but I need to know what's wrong so I can take care of it.

well, if it really does have a hole in the block, that means something went very wrong. I suppose it could start and run, but it would still need a new bottom end either way. It probably runs like ****, if at all.

That's what I'm sayin. I pick it up this weekend. I have another bottom end for it. I got it for a steal though, so i don't care if it runs or not.
