cool air intake vs. ram air vs. stock
right now i have my sotck intake system in my car still, but a K&N filter installed in the ari box. I was wondering if i should just keep that there, or get a regular cool air intake system,( maybe AEM) or a short ram air intake by AEM.....or whats better about an AEM one compared to a cheap one like an APC one or somethin...would it be worth spendin 150 dollars for the intake stuff rather than just keeping the 50$ filter i have in there right now? also what about an intake manifold? would i need to buy one of those too if i got an intake system? or is that just something extra, and if so would that help a lot too?? sorry i know these are stupid questions but im only 16 and new here....take it easy on me, thanks
i tried a ram air system where i directed a hose directly into my aribox and had a K&N inside.. it felt strong, but the power would noticably taper off above 7500 rpm.. it was better than stock though..
then i got an Injen CAI.. it pulled harder and all the way upto 8600 rpm..
get an Injen race division CAI..
3" pipe compared to the 2 3/4" pipe of the AEM..
