What kit should I put on my CRX?????
Should I put my original Mugen kit on the CRX, or should I put a replica kit on.
Argument for the original kit is that it will be authentic, and nobody has that. My car 'seems' worthy of it as well, so I don't think the kit would be wasted.
The argument against it is that it is rare and if something happens to it I will be forced to replace the panels or fix them. Given they are all brand new now, should I try to keep them that way?
Another factor is I have a guy willing to pay for the kit what I need to get out of it, and a replica is about 1/3 the cost. And the replica is supposed to be top-notch and more durable than the original. It is not a question of quality.
Additional notes that seem to have been left out:
-I already have the real kit
-My car is arguably the best publicly known example of a 1g CRX
-I barely drive the car, once a month at most
-I have all the other real Mugen stuff, why not this too?
As a reminder of what I am talking about:

It kind of depends on what the purpose is with the car. If you are going for speed, then who cares if it's fake? If you are going for looks, then most times, real parts pay off.
But if you say the replica is THAT good, then why not either way?

if the car is going to be a garage queen of course you should.
if the car is going to be a daily then maybe not.
if you want to keep the parts for another 20years and sell it for 12391231932 loads of money.. maybe
it will go up in value like some comic books.

3 posts and no votes?
This is a good post for getting out of making a choice.
My car is itself practically a museum piece for old Mugen and HKS products. This kit is the icing on the cake. The purpose of the car is to be sick as hell. Jaw dropping and blisteringly quick.
The point is, this kit is ridiculously rare to find anywhere in the world in any condition whatsoever. Mine is brand new.

My philosophy is if you have it, use it. And yes it is a rare and expensive kit but it all depends on what you want. If it were mine I would roll it regardless, why have it in a closet when you can have it out there on your clean *** 1st gen crx for you and others to enjoy. Keep her clean keep her beautiful, I've always loved your crx.
you say you drive it maybe a few times a month, then why not put it on, it wont see any wear and im sure you baby the HELLLLLLLLL out of it if you barely ever drive it, so go out all out homie
