Default free/very cheap mods

are there any other free or cheap mods that i can do to my car besides advancing the timing. i ran out of money for everything else but i still HAVE to go (or think i'm going) faster!

simple one...

get a screwdriver... remove the 3 screws holding your airbox cover down... pull the top off the airbox... go drive it. It sounds nice. It's pretty mean sounding. I don't think it helps performance any, but it sounds more fun.

Also... yank your P/S belt... it makes driving suck... but it makes you go faster. I wouldn't personally do this one, because I like comfort... but it's your call.

Did advancing your timing help you out any?

Another cheap mod (cosmetic) is to pull your gauge cluster out (5 screws) and put different colored 194 bulbs in there for your gauges... I have done blue, (kinda sucked) and red (I like it very much)

Then there's the 9005 headlight conversion... this is one that I LOVE.

Oh yeah, and a DIY Icebox can be had for about $45 in parts...
I don't know what sort of gains this will yield, but some people like it very much.

How many 194 bulbs are back there? The center bulb in my gauge cluster blew out, and i guess ill just change them all to red. Thanks

thanks guys, i think i'll pass on gutting it though. the ladies kinda like it and im not sure if they would appreciate the cool "bare metal" look that much! also, how difficult are the bushings to install and what overall difference should i expect?

$25....for an Auto-X. Mod yourself, that's the most important.

I changed my emblems to carbon-fiber backed ones. Doesnt look ricey at all, seperates the car from the rest.
