DOHC ZC + Nitrous?
75 with some safety precautions.
Check my build thread.
i was gonna run a 75 shot on a sohc zc, but even with the overly cautios setup I had, it still blew the plugs. Never figured out why. Timing was retarded 3 degrees... I dunno.

Well, the normal immediate limiting factor to the D-Series and nitrous would be the rods, but doesn't the DOHC ZC have the beefy rods compared to our toothpicks?

No. The ZC rods are quite spindly.

The only real thing you need to worry about on the dohc zc motor are cam bearings freezing up... The valve cover have no oil galley and it has poor oil design up top. If you bumped up your oil preassure you wont have any issues. I use to burn up those motors alot when running a single or two stage nitrous kit.

get a wet shot, i think you will be better with fuel + gas.

You'r thinking about the 8-89 Integra rods, which are slightly thicker (I wouldn't dare call them "beefy") rods than the SOHC, and fit the DOHC and SOHC ZC/A6

actually the brown tops are the ones you are referring to. not as skinny as a6 but a bit thicker.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ryan89crx »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">even though the a1 rods appear thicker, they are no stronger than any other 1.6 rod</TD></TR></TABLE>
just seen this lol funny as hell

i mines an A9 any difference? would it munch the rods with a 75 shot? would it need to be a wet kit or could i get away with a dry shot on 95 or 98 octane gas?

lol. That's fast.
I have a dualcam Zc (d16a9) but in a rover 216 sportcoupé (tomcat). Bought it with a broken rod, actually.. not just broken but coming out of the block.
Over here everyone says these engines are crappy. They have power for sure, but it happens the same to them all, rods come out of the block. I've seen some like mine already.
Anywone knows why? Is this because of the week rods as said above, or is there another reason?

nitrous is NOT cheaper than turbo in the long run.
a nitrous kit is around $500. give or take. to fill the bottle, $50. give or take.
depending on the jetting, the bottle will last 20 seconds to 60 seconds. it adds up fast.
you can do a home made turbo for $500+

Just boost the zc! Buy part by part and you will get it! I did the same thing and had no probs with rod bearings like most claim. 50 trim t3/t04e and running strong. Also reving to 7800! The best part is they are a 500 dollar motor at most!
If you run a AFC, MSD 6al and a fuel preasure regulator you will be fine. And for the guy who says you get 20-60 seconds out of a bottle. That sounds closer to the 1/4 mi times from a car runing a $500 turbo kit. Honestly.......3PSI is no fun. I had more than $500 in my fuel management and tunning my turbo car.
