I been looking up aftermarket parts for my 02 4DR accord and I find that most of the time the parts are only for 98-01, what happen to 02??? Aren't they the same Gen, should parts for them made the same? I want to buy a front and rear lip for my car, but it seems like they only make 98-01 for them or at least thats what the website says. Did Honda change something to the 02 models before they made a whole new gen? I am utterly confused.

 

some parts are for 98-99 some are 00-02 Acccords changed from Distributor to DIS in 00 I believe all 01 parts should fit an 02......they are mechanically the same.

 

no its fine. since you're buying a exterior part. 98-02 should fit. Keyword SHOULD. Diff i can see between 98-00 and 01-02 Diff grill, diff tail lights, and sort of diff interior.

 

There is no difference from 98 to 02 other than the cosmetics. lip kits that fit a 98 00 model wont fit the 01 02. performace parts are all the same. taillight from 98 00 won't fit on the 01 02 unless you are just swapping the body mounted ones. the ones on the trunk have a slightly different contour. the gauge cluster and the ac bezel have a different contour between 98 00 and 01 02. that is basically it.

Oh, just to let you know, you can use most all v6 parts as long at it isn't for the engine.
