oxygen sensor question (yes once more)
01 Accord
ULEV 2.3 MT
ok i went to get oxygen sensor got code 1166 & 1167, went to pep boys and got a new one, they said it's the same as the old one. also the same plug.
went home and unplugged, plugged new one in--guess what , on the new oxy sensor the 4-wires were not long enough to reach the mounted plug for the o2 sensor on the engine( that is screwed to the engine). so i used butts or whatever those wire harness connectors are called and cut the 4 wires on both new & old oxygen sensor, used the old wires/plug on the new oxygen sensor.
anyway i went to autozone, reset my ECU and guess what- the MIL comes back on about 1 min to 4 min. but the car runs better- i can clearly see that. i also read on these boards the ULEV's are very sensitive to oxygen sensors.
ok the thing is i'm pissed that i spent 96$ on this POS Bosch sensor @ pep boys. is there any way i can tell the ECU to STFU and drop the MIL for the O2 sensor?
other alternative has anyone sucessfully returned that POS O2 to pep boys after using it? or what about Bosch? they guaranteed it would work ?
either way the moment their telephone hours open tomorrow i will rape them on the phone and if needed gather signatures online of people who have had the MIL go back on and sue Bosch just to make an example out of them for selling "defective" equipment. (my good friend works at a lawfirm and owes me a favor)
hit me up guys what is the easiest way to go about this without wasting more money.

Yeah that ULEV is a super sensitive engine, there is a Tech Bulletin about not opening the hood outside if the temp is too cold cause it will throw a code.
But as far as your dual code situation, I'll go look because I think I saw a 'service news' article about that, or I'm having another damned flashback. LOL
If I can come up with something useful I'll repost.
Edit: Never mind it was from Aug 05 about bad ALTs blowing fuse#6 causing the codes, but it was still an awesome flashback for an old geezer like me

I feel your pain. I have had similar unfortunate problems with Bosch parts.
Did you reset your ECU after the sensor replacement?
In a similar situation, my (ugly but cheap) solution was the placement of a piece of black tape over the CEL.
Good luck.

My experience with generic bosch O2 sensors was on my old '90 Civic Si. I tried 2 of them with varying degrees of success. Ended up buying an OEM sensor from Honda. The parts store accepted my return and refunded my money under their warranty.
