Is this Turbokit crap?
Looks okay. Still needs fuel management and injectors, and has a log manifold, which isn't bad, but could be better. I do like the charge piping with the blow-off valve flange welded in already.

I know that I need fuel management and bigger injector, and stuff.
But I was asking, if this was a good start? It seems like it's a pretty good kit.. (cuz I have heard that, the ebay turbines are crap, also the ebay turbo manifold) But in this kit, there is a turbonetics turbine, so i thought it would be okey to start with
Boosting 6-8 psi

i'm going to guess by the fact you even bothered to look this up on ebay that you're running on a budget. again, budget and turbo kit should not be in the same sentence either. i mean.. unless you wna have your motor blow up 10 years prematurely.

saying lol before and after your sentence isn't a good thing when trying to give advice.
it's been said before you get what you pay for
no I would not get that kit.. people have had fitment issues on things liek strut bars and intake pipping from Ebay you expect to get a good turbo kit off there?

looks like most of the primary components are turbonetics, which i've heard alot of people are satisfied with... I've come to learn that when buying performance parts you get what you pay for though
since everybody keeps repeating what's been said a million times. i'll sum it up for you so there is no confusion.

I think low budget turbo projects are pretty cool. And anyone who is on a tight budget will NOT go buy a $3,000 shelf system when you can shop around and gather your parts for around $1,200 (including Hondata). In the end you will have a more capable turbo, the injectors you really wanted, and that goes with everything else, (minus GReddy's warranty).
I would not buy that kit. It's actually too much, haha.

The picture shown is NOT a prelude kit.

It's the SS autocrome kit. Junk.

okay right before we move on, i'd like to see some actual numbers. you claim that you can salvage together a good turbo kit including hondata for 1200. i would love to see that. who buys off the shelf?

Low budget kits are my nightmares come true. Everyone who comes by my shop with a 'low-budget' kit has wires hanging out everywhere, home depot couplers for a toilet, and more JB weld than advanced auto parts stocks. I end up sending them to other local shops to deal with.
You get what you pay for. The only decent 1200 turbo kit you will get is a used 'kit' in poor condition... and definetely not a hondata with socketed ecu.

Well since I've already put my foot in my mouth I'll confess that I did research last summer, finding everything I would need... on eBay, and it did come to around $1200, although you have me questioning myself about the Hondata now. So sorry for that uneducated post. I guess I thought it was pretty badass that my friend peiced together a SC-61 setup on his EK for dirt.
and watch it run like dirt in 6 months. bottom line, 1200 will get you started but surely it would not finish the project. but by all means, go cheap, why should i care, it's not my car
looks like someone got ripped.
only name brand stuff is the turbo and wastegate, and like others said no engine managment
piecing togethr kits for civics is always cheaper
hondata<crome
