In most other cars, yeah the RPM's are lower but its normal. No 6spd... but with enough money, anything is possible.

its fine around 3500 rpms @ 70mph.
most cars run a lil bit lower, like 3000ish @ 70mph.
prelude trannies run a lil higher rpms on the highway.
i personally like it better having a higher gear ratio.

to go off topic a lil:
i dont penny pinch/conserve on gas milegae that much when i drive anything 4 banger b/c no matter what you get at least 20mpg. driving 5 mph faster doesnt save much.

say you drive around 60-65 = 3000 rpm; youre only saving 1-3 mpg tops!
on a full tank of gas you barely burn one more gallon when you drive 70mph.
so you save roughly $2.50/gallon.

My B series is at 3700 ish at 70.

You just have to ask yourself if you want performance or economic transportation. H22 tranny higher ratio shorter gears higher rpm at 70
F22 tranny lower ratio longer gears lower rpm at 70

Hope this helps you.

i'll trade you for an accord tranny, bolts right up longer gears for sure and then you won't waste as much gas anymore!

I personaly like it that way.
And I still average about 25-26 mpg (mixed driving). It even clocked in at close to 29mpg once (on my way to Vegas, so hwy driving).

So no reason to be concerned, the RPM is supposed to be that high and you wouldn't save much on gas with a different tranny anyway.

omg your crying about 3400rpm?... wow is this your first honda? And seriously, why are you worrying about gas, fill it up and have fun. Are you really THAT poor?

P.s. You have a luxary honda with a performance oriented motor....

3 possibilities here:

1. He meant to say H22 be shorter than H23, not vice versa.
2. He's confused and really doesn't know what he's talking about
3. He's stoned
